Overview

FORMLESS partnered with artist and innovator TDot illDude to promote his song “ALIVE.”

  • The goal was to increase awareness of ALIVE using an Instagram Reel promoting the song.
  • Social sharing of the post was incentivized by offering $50 for every 1000 views generated by the Reel to a community of up to 50 participants who reposted the Reel.
  • SHARE smart contract technology efficiently established revenue ownership rights and paid participants in real-time as post views increased.

What We Did

Strategy

  • Incentivize engagement by rewarding reposts with monetary rewards, boosting awareness and participation.
  • Leverage SHARE’s smart contract capabilities to expedite the distribution of ownership rights and payouts to a group of up to 50 participants, fostering a community-driven approach to success.

Technology

SHARE smart contracts were used to manage the ownership rights of the revenue stream generated by views and route payments to co-owners whose payout balance could be viewed via the SHARE dashboard application interface.

Splits Allocation

Revenue-sharing rights were granted to the first 50 people to reshare the original Reel. Formless authenticated the reposts and directed participants to claim their share on the Formless application interface. Participants instantly received 1% of the total revenue generated by the post within the initial 24 hours.

Building Community

Each split claim included a unique token, unlocking free access to TDot’s song “ALIVE” on SHARE. This established a direct connection between the creator and each co-owner. 50 new email addresses were obtained, further enhancing TDot’s community and enabling future engagement opportunities.

Results

  • All 50 splits were claimed in less than 10 hours.
  • The IG reel generated 10,000 views, 150+ reposts, and 378 engagements within 24 hours.
  • The collective received $500 in shared revenue.

Outcomes

  • The SHARE protocol efficiently distributed revenue payments in real time.
  • Incentivized participants generated awareness and engagement targets that were on par with expectations.
  • The results show promise for expanding the model beyond music to other digital properties and products.
